	Südamerika / Südamerika-Nord De L´ Isles, G., bei Covens & Mortier, ca. 1730 old coloured, 57 x 48 cm Copper Plate, Hand Colored This is a French map of the Kingdoms of Peru, Brazil and the Amazon region. The political entities are outlined by different colors.On the left in the South Pasific is a compass rose. The top right has a decorative title cartouche with classical warriours. This map is also characterized by a greater than average amount of descriptions of the areas inland and descriptions of geography. This map was published in "Atlas Nouveau", between 1730-1774 by Covens & Mortier. The Kingdom of Peru which was established in 1542 is still shown as intact. In 1718 the Kingdom of New Granada was created next to New Spain and was the third Spanish Viceroyalty on South American soil. Französischsprachige Karte vom Königreich Peru, den Amazonasländern sowie Brasilien und dem Terre Ferme. Die Gebiete sind farblich unterschieden. Im linken Kartenbereich eine Kompassrose. Oben rechts eine dekorative Titelkartusche. Diese weist De L´Isle als Geograph aus. Die Karte zeichnet sich außerdem durch exakte Beschreibungen der Gebiete aus. Neben Informationen über die Ureinwohner finden sich auch Beschreibungen zur Geographie und zur Topographie. Diese Beschreibungen basieren unter anderem auf Henry de Leth. Die Karte erschien im "Atlas Nouveau", der zwischen 1730 und 1774 von Covens & Mortier verlegt wurde. Das Königreich Peru (errichtet 1542) ist noch in seiner Gesamtheit verzeichnet, obwohl sich 1718 das Königreich Neu-Granada herauslöste und neben Neuspanien zum dritten spanischen Vizekönigreich auf südamerikanischem Boden wurde.

Rhumb lines cross the map from seventeen points. A single compass rose is on the right hand side. Comparative mile scales in Dutch, German and English is on the bottom right hand side. Tierra Del Fuego is correctly shown as the main land mass. The collection of smaller islands on the west coast are absent. No attempt has been made to show Antarctica.

	Südamerika / Magellan-Strasse Blaeu, W. & J., ab 1635 kol. 53,5 x 41,2 cm Copper Plate, Hand Colored This maps shows the Southen most point of South America. In the South Pacific is a number of sailing boats under full sail. Latin text is on the back of the map. There is a key on the left side that identifies many of the bays in the land of Magellanica. The top right has the coast of arme with a dedication to Constantijin Huygens. Huygens was first councilor and reekenmeester to King William III until he passed away in 1687. Die Karte zeigt den Süden von Südamerika. Eine dekorative Kartusche und eine Reihe von Segelbooten, die unter vollem Segel stehen sind in der linken Hälfte der Karte zu sehen. Lateinischer Text auf der Rückseite sowie eine Karte von den Falkland Insel von Lodge.Die Firma Blaeu in Amsterdam geht auf Willem Jansz. Blaeu.
